Zanzibar
Zanzibar (probably from the Persian زنگبار zangi-bar, which means 'coast of the blacks') is a semi-autonomous region of Tanzania that includes a couple of islands off the eastern coast of Africa called Unguja or Zanzibar (1,554 km²) and Pemba (984 km²). These islands and Mafia Island are often referred to as the Spice Islands, although the term is more often associated with the Moluccas in Indonesia.

Nungwi, or Ras Nungwi, is a large town located on the northern tip of the island of Zanzibar. With a population of approximately 5,563, Nungwi is the second or third largest settlement on the island, possibly smaller than Makunduchi.

Stone Town / Zanzibar
Stone Town, Mji Mkongwe, in Swahili, or Zanzibar Stone Town, in Spanish, is the old part of Zanzibar City, the capital of the Zanzibar Archipelago, which is part of Tanzania. The old city sits on a triangular peninsula on the west coast of the island, covering an area of 96 ha. It was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2000, being one of the most important cities of Swahili culture. Among the tourist attractions in the area are the House of Wonders, the Sultan's Palace and the Old Fort.
